This modern Moroccan pendant light is a harmonious marriage between traditional craftsmanship and modern design. The negative space directs all focus to the elaborate design seen at the top of this exquisite pendant lamp. Nur casts brilliant shadows onto the ceiling, while creating a focused light at the base, making a perfect addition to dining and living spaces.
The intricate Darj W Ktef design is based on 12th century Almohad tile work.
Nur is available in a multiple of metals and is finished with a seal that prevents oxidation and therefore does not require polishing.
Our lamps come fully assembled, professional installation is required for hardwired pendants. You can download the instruction manual here.
If you have requested a pendant with a plug, no installation is needed.

We've partnered up with the artisans from Dounia Home to create breathtaking Moroccan lights. It began with a vision to empower Moroccan Artisans through a lifestyle brand that believes in fair wages, fair working hours and opportunities for growth. Founder and designer, Dounia Tamri-Loeper, draws inspiration from the artisan community in the Moroccan town where she grew up.
She works closely with master metal workers to create each unique lighting and furniture piece. Using locally sourced materials and traditional techniques, a team of passionate artisans carefully handcraft each piece.

Dounia Home’s goal is to empower the artisans they work with by paying 30% higher wages and offering them reasonable work hours so they can manage their time efficiently. They also offer their craftsmen an opportunity to grow and learn new skills by always pushing the limits of the trade.

Locally Sourced Material
Dounia Home takes great pride in the materials they use. Not only does sourcing their materials locally benefit the Moroccan economy, but it also allows their craftsmen + women to work with high quality materials from a country rich in minerals.
Each item sold by Department of Artisans employs an equal profit-sharing model.
Simply put, we make as much as our artisans do. The average split for each product is 40% artisan contribution, 40% DOA contribution, 20% importing + shipping fees. This means, our profits are the same as our artisans and we don't mark-up our prices like traditional retailers.
The 40% artisan contribution goes towards the cost of materials, the maker, and the project manager. The 40% DOA contribution goes towards marketing + operating expenses, and community initiatives. The 20% importing + shipping fees is paid out to each country during the exporting/importing process.
